The "Simferopol" International Airport was created in 1936. The airport has become one of the largest airports of Ukraine over the years of its development. The TU-104 first Soviet jet airplane's operation was mastered in this airport, and it was in "Simferopol" airport that the IL-86 airbus landed for the first time in Ukraine.

Today there are two runways in the airport, a complete complex of airdrome, engineering, radio, and lighting systems to ensure complete safety of flights for all types of passenger and cargo air ships of the world, and there are modern systems of air traffic control.
